Saturday October 5

We were up relatively early to go for a hike up the hill in the nearby Thunderbird Conservation Area. Linda had never ventured up the hill and had expressed some interest in trying it after some wine the evening before.

Linda, Chris, Melissa and I struck out shortly after 8:00 and did the 3 mile trail that climbs 500 ft to the top of one of the hills in the park.

Here we are at the top.

Some great views of Glendale.

Ron & Madelyn drove north to meet Brian & Linda later in the morning. Brian took Ron and I on a tour of the water treatment plant where he works. I didn't really have knowledge of the processes and equipment involved in large scale (40,000,000 gal/day) water treatment. Very interesting tour.

Brian and Linda prepared a fabulous supper for the six of us, grilled salmon with spinach and garlic.

Later in the evening, Brian and Linda's son Brad invited us over to their home a block away to check out his new house. Chris made friends with his Pit Bull, "Sweetie".
