Thursday October 3

We were up bright and early to go for a road trip to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park.

This was about a two hour ride north from San Tan past the town of Payson. A lot cooler there because the elevation was more than 5000 ft.

We hiked a couple of the trails in the park. The waterfall trail featured a hanging wall of greenery.

The main trail dropped down a couple of hundred feet to give access to the cavern under the "natural bridge".

After exploring the park, we headed to the little airport at Payson for lunch at the diner. A great little place for lunch.

We arrived back at Ron and Madelyn's mid afternoon and spent some time looking for some alternatives to National Parks in Utah.

We have a lovely supper, some wine and got to spend the evening star gazing from the hot tub before retiring for the evening.

  1. Say hi to Ron and Madelyn from us - their new house looks nice. It looks like you've shifted from National Parks to State Parks until the govt gets sorted. Pictures look great.
