Travel day to California started early with a 5:00 AM EDT wake up. Laura picked us up at 6:00 for our ride to the Buffalo Airport. Our flight pushed off on time at 9:00 AM.
We had a connection in Phoenix and a stop in Ontario CA before arriving in Oakland CA at 2:00 PM PDT. It took about another hour to pick up the rental car we would have for the next six weeks then we were on the road to Jim & Sharon's house in Sonoma. We stopped at a couple of stores to pick up a few things we didn't want to bring in our luggage and arrive there at around 6:00 PM for a relaxing evening and early bed time.
